Last night when getting out of a taxi the god botherer taxi driver asked us if he could give us this flyer, which I replied “In hell I think!”. Has the church started recruiting taxi drivers to spread the word of god? Oh, I forgot, his taxi number was 666…how inappropriate!
Lars (Ryan Gosling) is an awkwardly shy young man in a small nothern town who finally brings home the girl of his dreams to his brother and sister-in-law’s home. The only problem is that she’s not real - she’s a sex doll Lars ordered off the internet. But sex is not what Lars has in mind, but rather a deep, meaningful relationship. His sister-in-law is worried for him, his brother thinks he’s nuts, but eventually the entire town goes along with his delusion in support of this sweet natured boy that they’ve always loved.
Anyone who hasn’t seen ‘Lars and the Real Girl’ and needs a good laugh, see this film, it’s so funny…Ryan Gosling is awesome.
Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell) is the owner, promoter, coach, and star player of the Flint Michigan Tropics of the American Basketball Association (ABA). In 1976 before the ABA collapses, the National Basketball Association (NBA) plans to merge with the best teams of the ABA at the end of the season. Only the top four teams will make the move and the worst teams will fold. The Tropics are the worst team in the league and if they want to make it to the NBA, Jackie Moon must rally his team and start winning. The only problem with that scenario is the fact that Jackie Moon is not really the coach and star basketball player he thinks he is. He was able to buy the Tropics franchise with proceeds that he had earned from his hit song Love Me Sexy. To keep his team from oblivion and leave his mark in the city, Jackie Moon must inspire his team to win fourth place in the playoffs. Jackie trades a washing machine to another team for a former NBA benchwarmer, Monix (Woody Harrelson) to reach his goal. This was Monixs last season before he retires, and he wants to go out in a blaze of glory.
I was given a huge cardboard cutout of Will Ferrell as Jackie Moon this week, which has been slightly freaking out the kitten!! Me and Lou went to see Semi Pro this afternoon and it was great…shame reviews have been crap for it, I thought it was great.

Ok, so I finally got my iPhone yesterday…it’s been 2 weeks nearly and my patience was slowly running out. They guy who I bought it from in the states didn’t put my full address on the packing slip and plus it was easter, so the package was sort of stuck in limbo, so I spent the day sorting it out so I could use it over here…I thought it would be really complicated but it was very easy indeed.

I went to see a cool unsigned duo this evening with Jess called ‘Fireside Bellows’. They are Tracy McNeil and Jordie Lane, I loved their vibe, hopefully they will be huge.
I spent the morning recovering and met up with Lou, Nic, Aana & Rachel to see ’Grindhouse’, how it should have been shown, as a double feature…was amazing…though edited like crazy!!
