I know I have said this before and you may think I am a little nuts but I had to go to the immigration department for a sticker in my passport and honestly they make it so easy here I can’t praise them enough.

The guy who served me was just so nice, I told him after spending years going through the states for work it was so nice to see a country which makes immigration so stress free.

Immigration in the US literally bark and scream at you military style, it’s pretty appauling….and they take FOREVER! I was in the place for 20 minutes tops, they had a great system.

I then went into the Apple Store (all anal Apple owners stop reading now if you don’t want to get upset) and nearly cracked it…it was like being in Doha. I was asking for an accessory for my dock connector and the geeky Asian dude serving me was arguing with me that I could use one of the other fitments which came with the original package. I told him it didn’t fit and I wanted a proper one, he told me he uses the other one. I told him that I didn’t have it anymore…it turned out to be a ”I’m a Mac know it all…you know nothing” style argument he wouldn’t give it up. I ended up telling him I would just buy the item online. Why would they sell it online if the other one worked…I hate Apple…though their products are beautiful.

I went to dinner with Lou & Brydie…had fun.

Walking down the road as I got near the train station, I saw the bars lower down and a train pull up. “Should I run for it?” I thought, “naaah, I’ll wait for the next one”. As I walked to the main entrance there was a huge sign that said that the next train was cancelled…typical!!!

Weena loved your message, sums it pretty much up how we are all feeling to be back. We want you here with us in Melbourne. I miss you.

This morning all I wanted to do was crawl under my covers, watch Six Feet Under and stay there all day long…*shakes head at self*

All morning I received endless text messages from friends reminding me that I had arranged a small meet at the Belgium Beer Garden for some of the guy’s from Doha who are now in Melbourne.

Even though I felt like a train wreck from last night’s mess, the sun was shining and I did feel guilty not going, so I dragged my ass out of my bed and got the tram down St Kilda Road.

Mairz was there with Woody, Shay Shay & Michael arrived not long after me followed by Lauren, Kimmy and later Mags popped by. Here are some pictures…see more here.

I headed over to see Marine, then over to Lou & Kaz’s for drinks and food. It was great just hanging out and chilling with them. We all then headed to the Greyhound for some daggy dancing and to see the drag show.

I could go on forever about just how stupid the people are at D-Link…but I won’t. All I will say is that me and my flatmate were on the phone for over an hour with them before we got it working. They seriously have a cheek to say their may be a $40 fee to assist setting up routers. If their instructions made sense and if the people answering the phones actually could troubleshoot maybe their jobs might be easier.

*takes deep breath*

Had a great evening, went to see the Shaolin Warriors (Legends of Kung Fu) at Her Majesty’s Theatre with Marine, was a great show.

I hung out with Lou this morning, she was trying to get her mits on a rare book which she was really hoping to find cheap in one of the second hand bookstores up on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy.

Unfortunately they all knew the book and did confirm there was a waitlist for it and it’s quite expensive so she didn’t get a copy. I had never heard of the artist but apparently the book was quite controversial…personally I had never heard of it before.

We had breakfast, mooched about for a bit, dropped by her place to pick up my things she kindly looked after while I was away and headed home.

I spent most of the evening trying to get the router to work…I forgot how stupid the people in the D-Link call centre actually are!

I was up early this morning to start my first official day of college. Since the train station is only a stones throw from my house I decided to take the train instead of the tram. This was a sign on the wall. I love aussie humor.

I went over to my friend Brydie’s house for a bowl of soup and a chat and headed home to get ready to go out for the evening…had fun again.

I officially moved into my new place this morning. It didn’t really take me all that long to get my things unpacked and in placed where I wanted them.

Mairz called and said she was bored, so I drove out to see her, it was strange seeing her again here in Melbourne. We hung out at her house for a bit, went shopping and then I headed back to Bec’s to watch a movie with her.

Nice to be in my own place.
